Trying something different this time - a good charcoal drawing as a starter rather than just outlines. So far, so good :)

You have handled her hair very well perhaps you could use some artistic licence and straighten his head up, the tilt is not helping the composition.
I'm interested, seeing it's from a photo, how did you draw it, what I mean is did you use a Betty Edwards technique and turn the photo upside down? that way you see the shapes, tones and the composition more and it actually gets easier to get an accurate result.

Looking good.
I use charcoal for my underdrawings. I love it because I can rub it out quickly(when I change my mind.. or I spend 1/2 an hour trying to get a darn nostril in the right place!!!) and it doesn't damage my canvas.
That aside, I then spray it with fixative so that when I paint over it it doesn't smudge and get into the paint. So make sure you spray it, other wise it makes for a messy day of painting.
