Hello again everyone.

The idea of fimo beads and pendants entered my head a tad over a week ago when a friend from tafe offered to take me along with her to the city farm art markets at the end of this month.

So im going to see if any of my hand made stuff is commercially viable.

If it goes well next month i might also take some of my digital prints with me to sell (already framed).

I've made more beads then what is pictured as well as some larger pendants which are very organic rounded shapes. Anyways, enough of me talking.

Comment and critique is welcome.

Enjoy.
Thanks, from Robyn.

I have never used Fimo. Is it very different from Das? That's what I have used, painted with acrylics then finished with varnish. I'm not happy with the texture though.

Ummm ive never used Das, is that a self hardening clay? Fimo you cook in the oven at 110 degrees celsius for thirty minutes and is already pre coloured, these ones havent been but you can wet sand them and varnish for a better finish. Fimo isnt that cheap but easy to work with i find.

Yes, Das is classed as a self hardening 'clay'. Will have try the Fimo.

Yeah ive never dealt with Das, sorry. I only use fimo for things like this or atual ceramics clay when at tafe makign bowls etc.

This lot of Fimo i got from Jacksons at $5.15 each (before student discounts/loyal customer discount) per small packet i know Textile Traders used to sell it cheaper but my nearest one closed down :(

You can buy fimo in bulk over U.S ebay for quite a bit cheaper(bulk being about 1kg worth). Depending if you need it coloured or not too, you can get it in much larger packages in white and flesh colours.
