I remember this show from my childhood as my Dad would listen to it perhaps as he was in the pottery shed in Yankalilla. "Singers of renown" Hosten byJohn Cargher, I think he was Hungarian. The host dies this week. What a brillient show. I rediscovered it in the last few years and his dramatic voice tells the stories of opera singers with great interest. He was 89. Radio National has wonderfull arts content and if you dont know of it check it out at http://abc.net.au/rn Great to liten to when your actually painting.

Alos this week, Tristrem Carey who was a pioneer in early synthesiser music died. He did sound effects for DR Who. DR Who was actually very scary in its day a little did people realise how avant gaurde the music was that they were listening to in the show (or perhaps they did because it was so way out!). I loved DR Who(Tom Baker my fav) and I remember opening my first bank account, signing or really printing my signature at age 5, dressed as DR Who in the Bank. I had a home made tardis picture on cardboard painted by my Dad on my bedroom door. When I entered my room I was in the Tardis!!

two people who have contibuted have died this week and I apreciate what they did
