you should be drawing.
well, i write. i find that drawings and paintings go well with poems, as have many. my work is progressive, i like to play with words, i write instinctively.
have tried drawing myself though only to record a certain thought or angle of viewing the scene/s in question. as a result the drawings are plain but are more than enough to go off.
i'd like to see the work of anyone interested in collaborating. i am extremely fastidious. i need an instinctive artist that can work to a previous idea, is willing to change things, is not too weak to voice different alternatives, and is able to provide a few alternatives for any given idea.
it is a style that i seek...so if interested please show one or more representative pieces.
looking forward...

Perhaps if you look through the gallery and find a painting or drawing in a style that you like and are looking for - you may approach the artist directly through private e-mail system.
Artist in general a robust in their drawing and very imaginitive in thought !!!!

Maybe you should provide a sample of your work for us to consider first.

Dont think I can help either, but good luck with your search
I guess you could submit a poem & ask for those interested to post a picture relating to it. Then you could choose a style you like & work with the artist.
Is this for a book ?

to V-Mak; i have certainly looked, that which i have seen is good but is also "stand alone". my post was purposefully provocative, i'm glad you found it so. thankyou for your reply.
to Inkgal; you clearly understand the concept of stand alone artwork.
to Jayde; your reply was the most informative. it shows what i thought i might find.
to Judy; i have enough material for a book or two but direction depends on more than myself. it is not only what is produced that matters, but also how it is produced. that is what i mean by style.
as to mine; i submit( in small tastes) that which i am willing to change and am resigned to lose.
Blows nostalgic breeze of times for me unseen
right here in the first and twentieth
not sure what my part might be
on these seemly sands of legend
.................................................
through the Vampire's eyes
i see his only sunrise
and if ever there was
a time to die
it would be now
................................
there's an underside of Earth perhaps you've heard
and until your mind is right you'll never know
how to behold such strangeness to absurd
the journey there should help you
but logic is no longer
and nothing could prepare you
for the astral undertow
not all of my writing is epic in nature. i chose beginnings of seemingly epic nature as they leave the scope wide and are harder to run with.
P.S. this is take two at submitting this message. i'm not sure the first went through. i apologise if you have read both to the end.

170653. :)
I did consider a career in illustration - and did research as to where and how to go about making a living from it.
One of the things I know about myself now though, is that I have too much ego to explore someone elses vision.
I wish you well with your quest, but think it's important that you know that publishers - on the whole (apparently) would prefer to see a manuscript without illustrations. They have their own stables and freelancers on their books who they use, and rely on.
It may, in fact, be harder for you to be published (unless you are thinking of self-publishing) a fully-formed book...

i was unclear in my second post. these are the first verses of three separate poems without definite directions.
emkay: thanks for your post. it's exactly this kind of info i need to chase down. i'm extremely green when it comes to the mindsets of publishers and everyone else...however i have no hidden agendas...i'm merely curious to know how people like and...
V-Mak:...don't like to go about such things.

Hi.
If you are looking for an illustrator then you could start with site I some times participate in called:
www.illustrationfriday.com (http://www.illustrationfriday.com) and go from there. the spot.com is a good resoaretoo. You will find however any good proffessional illustrator will expect payment for work and will not be intersted in a "lets see how well it goes" project or print on demand arrangement where they get paid per sale
Best of luck

hey thanks alot. i've had alot of trouble finding those sort of sites. i figured that illustrators would want promise of payment, who doesn't. but i have no agenda whatsoever, unless you count interest in creative collaboration for the mere joy of it. i suppose that comes down to chemistry though and thusly i've decided to poke around in the real world.
information like that which you have all provided me is invaluable. thanks kayleen.

I write poems too, can you correct my grammar and publish with me? I have some fans and I'll ask them to buy.
