La Donna con il Violino Blu
(Lady with the Blue Violin)
Watercolour
37 x 27 cm
Part of Series called
(Ladies and the Instruments they Play)
This is the first painting that inspired me to start this series.
I hope to add to it over this year, I have a few of them that are just sketches at the moment
'waiting in the wings'
to be given life as watercolour paintings.
It is hoped this collection of paintings has an instantly recognizable style and that it reflects the happiness I feel when playing and surrounded by music.

inkgal8290...hi there, we are being night owls tonight.
I do plan out my watercolour work ,drawing them as sketches first, I find this an inevitable step and a valuable one as well.
However having said this, just because I do a foundation drawing doesn't mean it is going to work... in this instance I was more than happy with the result.
If I'm working in acrylics, sometimes I just slap on the paint (this is so much fun and it has a freedom all it's own) and I don't worry so much about a drawing or sketch.

V-Mak... thanks for dropping in Vesna... had a look at your website link in your signature... very impressive!
I love the serene look on her face, like she's one with the violin.

Helm... hi there, thanks for your reply, I'd like to think that she is as you described, 'one with the violin.'
I had a look at your castle painting, I love the deep rich colours you have used.

Thanks Perugina - I'm overwhelmed by it at the moment so am doing some digital work until I can figure out what and where to put the next bit of paint lol

Helm... I've looked at both your pieces you have posted and the one with the maze at the bottom is going to be stunning once you put in all the details.
Lucky for you to be able to plan it out digitaly... I haven't explored that facility on the computer... am all new to this. Have had a computer for a year only and I am still racing to play catch up!
What programs are you ulitizing for help with painting?
I would be interested to hear.

Hi there Inkgal8290...
Do you mean the picture of my cat in me signature below? Or 'The Claw' - in the photography section? I am a little confused.
The picture of the cat below is of me gorgeous girl Coco. Her Fangs were her trademark. When she smiled at me lying on her back... that's exactly what she would look like. I loved her little teeth the best. I miss her. I lost her, it will be 9 months tomorrow.
The picture of my cat in 'The Claw' is of my other Burmese boy Chocky, who we rescued from 'death row' shortly after I lost Coco, his owners wanted to have him put down simply because they had changed their minds and weren't prepared for the high energy of the Burmese Breed.
They are the dogs of the 'cat world' very agile and run around like 'greyhounds' they are a fun cat to have.
They also want to interact with people... Coco used to sit near my easel and paints and she would watch my hands constantly... she also used to sit on top of my piano to watch me play... I think she loved the music too.
Anyway I hope you didn't mind reading a little about my Coco's story. I think it was only natural to have her near me still, as my avatar in regards to art.
I have dedicated a blog to Coco all her own and am in the process of writing her story.
