View Full Version : Wizards Castle/Procrastination

In order to build his secret device that will enable him to take over the world, the wizard must first build himself a ridiculously large castle and put it on a high summit, surrounded by a labyrinth and an untamed landscape. No noble knight shall thwart his dreams.

Or, is he just a procrastinator?

I'd love to hear comments and suggestions for this piece, maybe I can catch the errors before I'm too near the end.

God All Mighty Jade ...really brilliant - how long did it take you to figure out the maze - I'm gonna see if I can actually trace a path up....
Love it !!!!- I can see this as a cover for a fantasy fiction book ...

Hey Ves - yeah it initially had a path through it, but I was changing it as I was going so I think its gone, I should probaly put one back in! I kinda lost the whole on a mountain though (the maze) its lookin kinda flat.

Thanks bud!

I've been looking, and looking, there are some angles that are not quite right - but I can't put my finger on them, and in some ways it's a bit Escher (http://www.mcescher.com/Gallery/back-bmp/LW389.jpg)-esque, so perhaps that's OK. I imagine in fantasy land it's all a bit fluid isn't it. ;)

Go for it - let's see the next bit.

Emkay, I sat looking at the painting for a while after reading your comment. I think its the roofy bit on the front bit of the castle...not sure how to fix it but I'm sure it needs fixing lol. oooh, I"m looking at Eschers artworks now, thanks for the name drop - I hadn't seen any of his works before. They're just brilliant.

Jewels, you just gave me a fantastic idea. I think the next painting should be of a room inside the castle and all the ludicrousies that abound within, his lab equipment, spell books and wee creatures. *hug* thanks!

Awesome work and patience Helm, So good to not fix up the perspective before you go any further. I think it may be that little roof throwing it all out, Youre looking up at the castle but down on the roof thingy which doesn't seem to be square.

I like this one. I think the white roof over the ? drawbridge ? is rather wide in comparison to the width / breadth of the castle, so the castle itself appears to be more like a tower.
