The cat minus one eye and the tree he was hanged from in "The Black Cat". Haha its not very good and I had to crop half of it out... I am housesitting at the moment and using a mac which I am embarassed to say I have never done before. Couldnt find out how to resize the image so I just cropped it!

I bought my children a book of The Works of Edgar Alan Poe years ago but have never read any of his stories myself. Looks like I'll have to pick up the book and have a read now!

Great choice of subjects!
Here's one I'm calling "The Ravens".
Acrylic on paper, 60x84 cm, completed in a two hour session.
Ingridr, that so encapsulates Edgars work! Twothumbs up!

Hi Everyone
This is my first time posting a piece of my work. The challengw was timely as I was looking for inspiration to creat somethin for my folio. The attached was inspired by the poem 'Alone' by Edgar A Poe:
From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.
Then- in my childhood, in the dawn
Of a most stormy life- was drawn
From every depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold,
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.
All feedback welcome.

Hi Poppit!
I really like this picture. He looks so sad...he has given up, like he will follow that road as it is the only one for him, whatever what may lie upon it. Really great interpretation - thanks for sharing it :D
Good interpretation. Well done.
