Completed so far, on location in just under 2.5 hours. Oil on 30x40cm (12"x16") canvas stretcher. It probably needs a few adjustments, especially in lower right foreground. David was with me and I hope he will post his painting here. Quite hot around 40C, but we were working under shady trees.
I covered the canvas with a medium rich orange/red alkyd/walnut paint and then painted into that without medium. At the moment the painting is juicy wet and shiny, but this will settle down in a day or two as the alkyd dries

Good composition & colour Bob. Water under the bridge needs leveling off though.

Thanks Judy
I think you may be looking at the blue under the bridge. It is sloping concrete in shadow

Nice work Bob! Fresh and spontaneous ...just like plein air should be!
Now that Christmas is over, I am about to start working on some local plein air for an Australia Day show at our local gallery.

I finished this off today from my memory which was still quite clear from yesterdays painting on location. Spent 30 minutes working mainly on the lower right creek area
This time I photographed the finished painting in sunlight and it made a huge difference, but not sure if the photograph or the painting are any better
C&C Welcome

Sorry Bob. Should have realised by the direction of the brush strokes.
