But I had fun with this one... it's not finished yet so ignore the snot look she has going! I was doing it as a release and an experiment painting but I think I'm going to keep working on her!! any suggestions appreciated.

well it wasn't really meant to be snot... I just went a little overboard with green!

I definitely like where it's heading too.

But you may want to attend to that snot. Looks like she's wiped it up her face. :tongue_smilie: It certainly has put a smile on my face though :w00t:

It's fine.

(besides the snot thing.... buuuttt... maybe you should leave it there, it is certainly interesting, and honest and evokes discussion :w00t: )

Maybe if you soften up the tears so they look a little (well a lot) more delicate and wipe her nose this could have potential.

At the moment you can't help but focus on the fact that she needs to wipe her nose.

Lauren, its not hidious at all , if you hadnt have mentioned snot, I would not have realized that is what its supposed to be, maybe if you toned it down a bit ,I dont think anyone would even think about snot , but leave it there if thats the effect you want, keep going with it, I like it

maybe get some of that green going on in the other areas of the face mixed in with the blue in the background for shading? It has the right mood of sadness -- hope the next painting is of someone laughing! :)

Hi Lauren. I think your painting shows a lot of feeling , the eyes are very expressive, and I like the colours you have used. I agree with the others about the snot though.
