AUUUGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
IT'S THE 20TH ALREADY AUUGHHH I AM FREAKING OUT!

I still have 4 paintings to finish, linocuts, varnishing, wire on the backs, and all the promotional stuff and we STILL haven't got the invitations to the printer!!! EEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKK

Calm down - deep breaths - in thru the nose and out thru the mouth.....

Now Lauren, you are usually a woman who loves a deadline and is very organised. You have the rest of today to panic, then you need to sit down and organise yourself and get to it.

I know you can do it - GO GIRL!

TET
09-20-2005, 05:43 PM
Arrrrrgggghhhhhh....I'm stressing out because I don't have anything to stress out about!!!! ;)

lifecoach

ep_treasures
10-02-2005, 09:43 PM
I'm back :D ..............and there's only about 6 weeks to go  ...................I'll scream later when I realise how much there is to do in such little time - I'm too rested atm

Lauren
10-03-2005, 12:11 AM
Hi Elena, welcome back! It's a shame we didn't get to meet up as planned  4 weeks to go for me and my main panic at the moment is getting the invites printed on time! I cannot tell you how stressed I will be if the printer doesn't get his butt moving...

Lauren
10-03-2005, 03:09 PM
auuuggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no word from the printer monday so found a new printer.... still haven't got the invite details finalised and I am waiting for emails.........stress stress stress
I will be so happy when i finally get these invites done..oh and did I mention I am behind in painting too? Think there is going to be a few late nights for me this month :cry2:

Lauren
10-03-2005, 03:10 PM
ps How are everyone elses exhibition plans going?

ep_treasures
10-03-2005, 03:35 PM
hehehe....sounds like we've got to get back into 'the challenge' at BMN to get us moving along. I still have a little more painting to do and HEAPS of other creative 'bits' to begin.

Lauren
10-04-2005, 02:01 AM
Yeah! Changed printers and the invites are on their way to the printer tommorow... big PHEW! from me! Now tommorow it is back to painting again...

lifecoach
10-04-2005, 02:38 PM
Keep the faith - it will all come together.

Lauren
10-04-2005, 02:58 PM
Yep I know...it's just getting there! I finished another painting today, two more medium ones to go! And if I am really doing well I might do some small ones too.

ep_treasures
10-05-2005, 02:20 AM
Go for it Lauren :artist:

Lauren
10-05-2005, 09:28 AM
How's your work going Elena?

lifecoach
10-05-2005, 07:19 PM
Yah girls, keep at it - the end is in site.

Lauren
10-05-2005, 09:03 PM
Augh Maree don't say that!! I don't want the end to be in sight! I want another month.

ep_treasures
10-05-2005, 10:10 PM
I want another month......................make that two months  ......what am I laughing for

Lauren
10-05-2005, 11:19 PM
It's funny how when you are stressed you giggle more...usually when there really is nothing left to do really but laugh at the whole situation.

hahahahahaha

ep_treasures
10-05-2005, 11:23 PM
.........heheh, it's better than crying

lifecoach
10-05-2005, 11:50 PM
slap and slap to both of you.

Lauren
10-06-2005, 09:38 AM
hahahaha

ep_treasures
10-06-2005, 08:20 PM
I think I just ducked in time

Lauren
10-08-2005, 10:47 PM
I think people who are NOT under stress shouldn't be slapping anyone. I think I have the right to slap a few people (can I start with the dodgy printer I first went to) hehe Seriously though, things are starting to fall into place for me now.. just need to catch up on some painting.
I will be fine.
I will be fine.
Maybe if I say it enough it will come true.

ep_treasures
10-08-2005, 10:52 PM
I think that somehow when we are really under pressure to finish our work we DO manage to get everything done. :D .................I hope

You will be fine.

You will be fine.

Lauren
10-08-2005, 11:01 PM
PMSL I was feeling quite happy until you added the ....I hope bit. We are going to need some serious chocolate and coke after this.

ep_treasures
10-08-2005, 11:06 PM
COKE?? ............what happened to champagne??

Lauren
10-08-2005, 11:07 PM
opps make that chocolate, coke and champagne... although not all at the same time!

ep_treasures
10-08-2005, 11:11 PM
For a minute there I thought you wrote chocolate, CAKE & champagne....................must be those paint fumes again making me delirious (is that how you spell it?)

ep_treasures
10-09-2005, 04:29 PM
Lauren, that 'open studio checklist' you sent me a while back has come in handy. :D

I've been able to add my own notes onto it & check things off. :D

Lauren
10-09-2005, 05:21 PM
oh good.. I thought you might like it! Maybe you could use that list you are doing up for future years, just type it up yourself and print it for next year. Then you can cross off things that didn't work or were a waste of time and add new ideas to try next time.

ep_treasures
10-09-2005, 05:29 PM
Yes, that's a good idea. Even though some of the things on the list are basic 'to dos' it's good to have them listed so you can 'tick' them off after you've done them. Seeing those boxes filling up with ticks makes you feel like you're actually getting there..................just need to start filling the boxes with ticks  ..

Lauren
10-12-2005, 01:04 PM
hehe you'll get there... which is what everyone has been saying to me and is about helpful as a hole in the head when you have lots to do. I'd much rather hear "would you like me to take the kids for a while so you can get some work done?'

ep_treasures
10-13-2005, 07:14 PM
I know what you mean Lauren. "You'll get there" isn't much help - it's not even encouraging - but a helping hand would be.

Lauren
10-13-2005, 07:46 PM
Yes so true... *sigh* although chanting "it will all be over soon it will all be over soon" helps! hehe How are things going with you? Anything I can help you with?

ep_treasures
10-14-2005, 06:40 PM
Can't think of anything atm but I'll be screaming very loudly when there is
Wish I could offer you some help too but I'm not sure if my 'brain' has anything to offer

Lauren
10-14-2005, 07:56 PM
haha thanks anyway! Things are going pretty good atm as long as I get the last two paintings done on time i should be ok...

ep_treasures
10-17-2005, 12:17 AM
Well, there's no screaming yet from me - I don't know why I'm not at panic staged yet seeing there's only 4 weeks to go

I am surprisingly quite calm...............hope I haven't spoken too soon

Lauren
10-17-2005, 09:46 AM
You must be super organised

ep_treasures
10-17-2005, 03:01 PM
Organised?? ......is that what it is? Must be in my dreams

I'm seriously thinking of getting the 'Office Nanny' to help me GET
organised.

Lauren
10-18-2005, 08:47 PM
hehe! I finished another painting today.... 1 to go! Yipeeee... although I will probably do a few small ones for people who can't afford the big prices but that will be fun and optional so no stress involved.

ep_treasures
10-19-2005, 01:17 AM
Things have been going slowly since we returned from Bairnsdale. :?

I think I'm in 'denial' atm - maybe that's why I've been 'calm'.........but I'm starting to get flickers of panic  ......you know that sickly feeling when you Realise just exactly how much there is to do & how little time there is to do it. :(

Lauren
10-19-2005, 09:08 AM
umm yes! considering my invites go out Friday and I have to have all work done by the 24th and I'm being asked what I am wearing to the opening. augh!

:spit:

Lauren
10-24-2005, 08:00 AM
Two weeks to go!! Auuughhhhhhhhhhhhhh Although it's really one week because we are setting up for most of the week before. Very nervewracking and I feel like I have forgotten to do something!

ep_treasures
10-25-2005, 01:11 AM
OK, it's hit me - now I'm full on panic, sick in the stomach feeling, head about to explode  ........and here I am, posting instead of working

Lauren
10-25-2005, 07:34 AM
 Welcome to the wild side! hahaha I'm on my last painting that I will finish today and then it's down to the nitty gritty stuff with me. I can see the finish line! Feel free to vent in here as you go.

Decided to drop in for a quick scream

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

That's better :!:

Our "The Two Rivers Project" exhibition is being set up at Heathcote Musem and Gallery on Monday, opening Wednesday at 6pm. I am still waiting for a couple of prints to be ready so don't know until I see them if I can use them. Fingers and toes crossed. Although there are 13 people in the exhibition, the organisation (ie most of the work) is down to just a couple of us, trying to pull together all the disparate info people have given us.

Just another quick scream before I go

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Lauren
10-26-2005, 02:13 PM
ah it's so nice to hear that we are not alone! I'm crossing my fingers and toes for you.

Lauren -

How many of your paintings are you displaying at the exhibition? I know you have been working hard to prepare and I was curious.

ep_treasures
10-28-2005, 05:54 PM
 OK, I've now reached the point where I'll have to do a couple of 'all-nighters' if I really want to get everything finished. I'm not sreaming yet - I need to conserve my energy :( ...................but you may hear me soon without the need to post

chrism
10-28-2005, 08:50 PM
Feeling much better now.

Prints have arrived. DH has finished all my framing. I think we are going to make it..... i think we are going to make it ..... I think we are going to make it .......I think everything will be alright on the night ..............

Deep breaths working .....

Lauren
10-28-2005, 09:16 PM
1 week to go here and I have 11 works for the exhibition (up on my website for those who are interested). I am still in denial so I better get back into it soon or you will hear me screaming soon too.

Chris, I'm sure it will all be fine even though I know saying that doesn't help... feel free to come in and scream anytime.

Lauren
10-30-2005, 04:39 PM
Make that 12. Dh has just drilled a small hole through one putting wire on the back

Auuugggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

You now have a "holy" painting.
Might be able to ask a "higher" price :)

Are you going to try and repair it. Can we help :?:

Lauren
10-30-2005, 06:55 PM
I'll let you know! I haven't seen the damage yet, I am hoping it's just a case of the canvas stretching in one place as he said he didn't get all the way through..? Not sure until I see the damage for myself... I will definately try and repair it.

ep_treasures
10-30-2005, 11:16 PM

Lauren
11-02-2005, 07:51 PM
Well 2 days to go and we have been hanging all day are are about to go in and hang tonight too. It's looking fab so far, and the hole in the canvas wasn't too much to worry about, easy fixed. :D Looking forward to Friday night now... still have a fair bit to do but no need for screaming just yet. I am really, really enjoying hanging it and seeing it all up on the wall DONE! Now pray for people with cheque books for me.

Lauren
12-09-2005, 06:57 PM
By the way Elena, how did your sale go? Was it worth all the hard work you put in?

ep_treasures
12-10-2005, 11:50 PM
Opening night was the best for sales. After that .....well, let's just say I'm glad this is the final sale done from home.
Heaps more invitations were sent out/handed out this year than the previous 8 years; spent more on advertising (well, previous years I spent nothing on advertising); tried to do the 'networking' thing etc etc etc.........but this year was the worst as far as sales go. I was hoping I could get to pay off my debts. :( So much work for too little reward :( - Next year has to be done differently ......& I'm too exhausted now to do anything. But I have to pack & put everything back in order.
Sorry to sound so gloomy....................might need a few glasses of champers & chocolate............

Lauren
12-11-2005, 08:23 AM
oh bummer Elena! At least you made some sales out of it, better than nothing at all. That's how I look at it anyway. Maybe next time cut out the advertising that didn't work for you to help cut down costs, if you do something similiar in the future anyway. I was hoping to sell more from my exhibition too, but you'll never know unless you get your work out there, plus the way I look at it I still have the stock to keep selling myself.

ep_treasures
12-11-2005, 10:23 PM
Yes, I have heaps of stock too. I know I'll be planning things differently in the new year. Definitely no more sales from home. But I'll have to put on a clever thinking cap..........if that's possible. Anyhow, I'll have stock to begin with when I set up 'Precious Treasures'. I was just hoping I would have some extra finances so I could select some nice 'treasures' form the Gift Fair.

Sorry to hear that you didn't sell as much as you would have liked Lauren.Well, next year will be better - here's to 2006  - make way - here we come....

Lauren
12-11-2005, 11:15 PM
Yep!! I have sold quite a few since though, it was just the location of the exhibition more than anything else. You live and learn, huh?

ep_treasures
12-11-2005, 11:55 PM
Yep. Hope I've learned lots too.
